GBIS Measures

Flat Roof Insulation

Cavity Wall Insulation

Cavity Wall Insulation

A quarter of heat is lost through the roof in an uninsulated home. Flat roof insulation is a popular kind of insulation that is installed above your ceiling to ensure that the cold air remains outside and the warm air inside.

Cavity Wall Insulation

Cavity Wall Insulation

Cavity Wall Insulation

About a third of all the heat lost in an uninsulated home escapes through the walls. Many cavity walls can be insulated by injecting insulation material into the cavity from the outside. A specialist company will drill holes in the outside walls, inject insulation through the holes and then seal them with cement.

Loft Insulation

Cavity Wall Insulation

Loft Insulation

The minimum recommended level of insulation is 270 mm. The insulation is used like a blanket to cover your loft or roof space floor, making sure the area between and around your joists is fully covered. Loft insulation will help reduce your energy bills by limiting heat loss and keeping your home warm.

Energy Company Obligation (ECO4)

ECO4 is a benefit-driven scheme, that houses a plethora of measures that would help save on energy bills. If any person living in your home or a property you own claims any of the following, YOU WILL QUALIFY!

  • 1) Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA),
  • 2) Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA),
  • 3) Income Support (IS),
  • 4) Pension Credit Guarantee Credit (PCGC),
  • 5) Working Tax Credit (WTC),
  • 6) Child Tax Credit (CTC),
  • 7) Universal Credit (UC),
  • 8) Housing Benefit,
  • 9) Pension Credit Savings Credit (PCSC),
  • 10) Child Benefit, (within the income caps, see Chapter 5 of the ECO4 Guidance: Delivery)

Additionally, a person living at private domestic premises is an eligible member of the HTHG if the person is in receipt of the Core Group 1 and Core Group 2 rebate in England and Wales, or the Core Group in Scotland, for each respective scheme year under the Warm Home Discount scheme. For more information see Schemes tab.

Solar Photovoltiacs

Internal Wall Insulation

Air Source Heat Pump

Solar panels, or photovoltaics (PV), capture the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity to use in your home. Installing solar panels lets you use free, renewable, clean electricity to power your appliances.

Air Source Heat Pump

Internal Wall Insulation

Air Source Heat Pump

Air source heat pump (sometimes called an air-to-water heat pump) transfers heat from the outside air to the water in your central heating system. This heats rooms in your home via radiators or underfloor heating. It can also heat water stored in a hot water cylinder for your hot taps, showers, and baths.

Internal Wall Insulation

Internal Wall Insulation

Internal Wall Insulation

Internal wall insulation involves fitting material to the internal walls of a dwelling, to prevent heat loss. This material is then covered in a vapour barrier to protect it from air penetration. Any plug sockets on the walls will be extended so that they can still be used, though the walls will need to be re-decorated after the works have been carried out.
